With actual travel? Portal/partner purchases? Buying points?
I'm trying to figure out what will work for me. I've got five airline and seven hotel programs. It's unlikely that I'll end up getting award flights and rooms from all
of them (at least in the near future), even with points+cash rates. I can (in most cases) reach a redemption threshold by buying points or transferring MRs or URs...but I question whether it would be worth it unless I'm already most of the way there.
I'd open some exotic FF account for a lucrative and unorthodox MR/UR transfer, but I might not bother trying to keep surplus points in the program alive after the trip.
Even spending time thinking about 15k points with Marriott or Best Western seems silly when I've got like 300k points in IHG (not excessive, given that I'll probably use them up by the end of 2017). Rather than concern myself with Marriott's expiration policy or how rare my Best Western stays are, maybe it's best to just stop thinking about it and convert the points to AA or Delta miles I'll actually use.
Very useful: SchwabPlat, CSP, IHG, Costco (was AA Plat), Freedom, SPG
Somewhat useful: Discover, ED (was EDP), BCE, Hyatt, Arrival
May close or PC: Prestige, BrooksBros
Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold, First Tech
