I would agree the 4th free night seems like one of those grey areas. I'd wager it will work out in the end, but may be an issue in the short run.

I should be trying it for the first time in July.

I'll keep everyone posted. (Don't hold your breath).

MBZ Plat 75K/3K approved.
Hilton HHonors 75K/1K approved for $4,000.

AX slowly seems to be lifting the boot off my neck.

Nice! I'm surprised the just-cancelled Platinum didn't set off alarm bells.

Am I right in thinking you already got a bonus on the AF Amex Hilton?

I can be patient in waiting for credits to post, but my concern is that if multiple rooms are "officially" excluded (in Citi's retroactive interpretation of the vague terms), and I don't get the credit automatically, I won't have much ground to stand on if I escalate it with the EO.

Maybe I'll reconsider it when I have an expensive one-room refundable reservation for four nights. :ppp

The free version seemed like a better deal to me. 100K for 3K spend vs 75K for 1K. It's a no brainer.

I do like not caring at all how many transactions I have on ED.

And I was thinking you'd MS the $3k on the AF version (or use it for real spend and MS elsewhere), then downgrade after the first year. :ppp

I suppose even 25k HH points aren't so much better than a first-year fee of $75 (for me, at least).

Nixon, I'm curious...

Do you bother to keep points in all your hotel and airline programs active? Or you just focus on getting the big bonuses and using most of the rewards, not caring if the "scraps" (worth $50 or $100 or whatever) later expire?

I've redeemed a few more Arrival "miles" that I had slowly accumulated (mostly from portal purchases). With 10% back, I can make one more $25 redemption and then have my reward balance at around $5.

When the 5% back/$100 minimum nerf hits my card, I won't have much in the way of rewards to lose. I'll keep it active in case a backup PIN card with no FTFs ends up being useful, but I don't expect to redeem rewards on it again.
