Definitely a HP if approved. Usually a SP if denied.
Your odds are probably good. Platinum has a luxury image (and some perks to back it up), but the actual income and credit standards are generally looser than what's necessary for a $12k BCP.
Only you can determine the value you get from it, as well as determine which perks will really matter.
I see Delta (and/or partners) operate out of LEX and SDF, so you can always try the card out for a year and as a last resort transfer the miles to Delta where they won't expire.
