Blispay's future

Postby CarefulBuilder14 » Thu Apr 07, 2016 11:02 pm

Blispay has become the latest fad card on MF. No bonus, but 2% cash back and special financing on purchases over $199.

I looked at the FAQs, since I couldn't find the Schumer box. It's not 0% for six months. It's no interest if paid in six months. So if you don't pay, it's 19.99% retroactive to the posting date.

Somewhat useful: Discover, ED (was EDP), BCE, Hyatt
SD with activity alerts, might close: Arrival

Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold, First Tech, BofA Travel PH, Aviator Red

Personally, I don't see why everyone is falling all over themselves with this card. Not like there aren't other 2% cards (that most of them already have).

As far as the company, I don't know. I think that if they don't make sufficient profit from people who do pay that 20% interest, they will end up discontinuing the card. Historically, most 2% cards have gone away or been nerfed eventually.

I think they are counting on many people forgetting to pay in time on the 6 month %0 APR thing for stuff $200 and over. I think there is a chance it could work well too.

It seems to be the best %2 cash back card on the market, but it's nothing mind blowing and if you have a %2 cash back card then there really isn't much going for this card.

I feel about done applying for sometime though. I have been using mostly my discover as my everyday card. I know it won't be a %2/%10 card forever but I am enjoying while it last.

But in the end history has shown that it isn't likely this product will last. I would not recommend this card to someone just getting started building credit as it wouldn't be good to have credit taken away just as you are taking off history wise.

Well, it's apparently available again. Someone was "testing" to see if it was still down and ended up getting an approval without, apparently, intending to submit a valid application.

That person sounds like a moron...

Anyway, it doesn't bode well for the card / bank in my opinion. I could be wrong, but time will tell.
