Also, your previous comment about the AFs (not that they're not quite high without this, but) the business cards are true business cards. I don't pay the AF and they're not for myself for the cell phone bill every month etc etc. They get worked to death. Not sure if that was a factor in your comment. I know I still have plenty of AF to go around, but they all have their place and the two large ones are chopped in half before the end of the year at the worst...

Daring in that I combine the Barclaycard portal with Amex offers. I get Arrival Miles without using the card.

Well, if you don't pay the AFs on the business cards and the company picks them for you, then debating the value of Amex Gold cards (personal and business, except for PRG) is irrelevant. If I needed an Amex business card, I know I would prefer a business SPG (for as long as it exists, at least). The Business Gold does have the NPSL, though.

I did request the EDP-to-ED PC, so that's one less AF for me.

The business gold is by far the best rewards program for the business. Also, the charge card is definitely 100% better as well. Though I have been thinking about the SPG business card as well.

How did the PC go? Any issues?
Amex - BCP, Platinum, Business Gold
BoA - BankAmericard Cash Rewards
Chase - Freedom, CSP, RC, Ink Plus
Citi - DC, Prestige
Discover - It

It sounds like it works for you, then.

The CSR said the PC was complete, but CSRs have given me bad info before, and apparently the Amex website needs time to reflect the change.

So...no definite issues that I'm aware of...yet.
Keeping indefinitely: IHG, SchwabPlat, CSP, Discover, Freedom, ED, BCE, Hyatt
May close or PC: Prestige, Arrival, BrooksBros
AA Platinum converting into Costco

Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold, First Tech
Letting new accounts cool off since May

Well, I wouldn't let the website affect you. I PCed to the Platinum a couple months ago (got 50K MR with 5K I was already going to spend for the PC - took several months of dropping the hint to get a real offer from them. I probably chatted them about the PC 10 times and concluded it with asking for a spending bonus each time. They said it's not something that exists every time and then a month or two after I stopped asking, I got an email offer. I believe, if I remember correctly, you got a similar email offer through your PRG at that time).

Anyway... It took some time for the card image to change on the app and website. Definitely not within the first day or two but I believe within the week.

I also did a Discover PC earlier this year, not that it's particularly relevant to this, and they required the change to specifically occur at the cycle change (and the day I first called about it was the day after the statement cut so I needed to wait another 29 days and call back).

I also got a targeted Platinum offer, also 50K MR for 5K. It was via mail and just for a regular application (I have nothing from which to PC).

I don't think I could make good enough use of it to keep one indefinitely, but if I got a good enough offer I would take it for the MR and perks but plan on closing after a year or so. Glad to find out I am on their radar at all though. When my year of double cash back with Discover is up I'll be spending more on the ED. I'm interested to see if I will continue getting targeted offers.

So I'm still "gardening" (just by default) for the foreseeable future.

AU on Barclay Sallie Mae - $10,000 (8/15)
plus several store accounts of varying usefulness now

Looks like this new Blispay card is really taking off. I don't really understand the hype. Just another 2% card that's less flexible (rewards instantly come off the statement, you cannot save them up). It offers financing, which is nice, but you can often get 0% offers from existing creditors if you try. Yawn.

Smart to pass on that and wait for a better offer - or at least until you can make great use of the benefits.

The terms don't look too bad compared to other 2% cards...but not of interest to points people unless it's for MS.

I suspect the issuer might be overwhelmed with apps. I wonder when we'll be seeing rants about bad customer service and not valuing their customers.

And Amex's website now fully reflects the EDP/ED PC.

What was the appeal, given all your alternatives?

For Blispay?

It doesn't seem that bad except I've never heard of that company and have no idea what they do.

6 months interest free on all $199 plus? Surely you jest. :)
