A couple of weeks ago I ventured out of the garden for the first time in about 15 months to apply for the Chase Sapphire Preferred. The signup bonus plus AU bonus was just too enticing to continue ignoring. LOL, I've already made three payments on it and haven't even gotten my first statement yet. Anyway, solidly on track to meet the spend bonus requirements without actually spending anything extra - My Double Cash, Freedom, and It just aren't getting as much love as they usually do.
Anyway, since I just apped, that means I'll probably be in the garden for at least the next year. I guess I could end up applying for something new if a sufficiently enticing cash back card came along, but it doesn't seem all that likely. That said...

Instead of going for EDP, where I'd need 30 swipes to get to 1.5x MR points, I'll go for the Chase Unlimited where the UR points are automatically 1.5x since it will be a 'cash back' card in the same sense that the current Freedom is a cash back card that transfers to CSP for points purposes. I do wonder if they'll let me get both the CSP and the Unlimited at once.
What's this now?
I see there's a long thread over at MyFico about a Chase Freedom Unlimited but until now I'd ignored the thread. I guess I have some reading to catch up on. It sounds like this is simply an enhanced version of the Freedom that offers 1.5% instead of 1% on non-category spending, is that correct?
