How was the limit?

I was thinking about your consistent apps and how it was a lot, but then thought about it and about 4 new accounts a year really isn't a lot at all.

It just seems like it is.

I don't know...I was thinking it was getting excessive, but in reality, it's probably not far off from what it should theoretically be for a full and healthy profile. Granted, some of the accounts one opens each year would normally have interspersed vehicles and home loans and other home related things, not just credit cards, but that's really only a matter of if someone is looking closely at your profile.

How often do you make a purchase on your cards that your don't use daily / regularly?

Some of the above may be poorly written and or thought out. I take no responsibility for that.
Amex - BCP, Platinum, Business Gold
BoA - BankAmericard Cash Rewards
Chase - Freedom, CSP, RC, Ink Plus
Citi - DC, Prestige
Discover - It

It's a variant of the Amex Platinum, so NPSL.

I use cards as they are useful for what I'm buying. I'll buy a $1 Amazon gift card balance reload if I haven't used a card for two complete cycles. The BB store card I probably use at least once every 6 months, but a CSR said it usually took two years of inactivity for the BB card to close.
Love: IHG, Platinum, Sallie Mae, AA Plat, CSP
Like: Discover, ED, BCE, Hyatt, Arrival, Freedom
Might drop: BrooksBros, Prestige (Costco PC?)
Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold
Letting new accounts cool off since May
Really not sure what I'll add next or when

I didn't realize it was that Platinum. I don't know why.

Do you have info on the general period of inactivity it takes for a regular card from Amex or Chase etc to close?

Some people say "years and years" but I'm not interested in taking that risk.

I actually do use all my cards. They each have their special features. The only one that has not had "natural" activity from being my rewards-maximizing option in the last two months has been Arrival - and I used that when it was my rewards-maximizing option in early January.

I mostly use each of my cards every month. It's usually not a result of general rewards maximization but I don't care 100%. My brother had a Citi account close on him recently. It may have been more than a year, but definitely not more than 2.
