I have noticed that when you spread the same spend across more cards, the wait for redeeming them is a lot longer. You may gain a point here and there by gaming different categories but it kinda feels like the progress has slowed.
I'm way guilty of chasing bonuses but the cards are also good cards IMO. I see how ppl get addicted to this whole thing and I'm hyper aware of my own apping behavior. LOL
At one time, I was shooting for up to 10 cards. Now I'd be lucky if I kept 3-4 around. Chase Freedom and Discover are keepers, CareCredit is next out the door, Amazon is possibly going away after 6 months or a year. I do a lot of spending at Amazon, but the 5% cash back statement credit isn't that good a deal. Maybe the Freedom Unlimited if the UR points are offered along with cash back. If not than maybe the Amex EDP. Beyond that, I think I'm done.
