VISA Gift Card Info

Postby NickHorton123 » Mon Feb 29, 2016 10:11 am

This isn't exactly credit card talk, but I am in dire need of information. When I activate a VISA gift card and put in an address, is the people that live at that address notified in anyway. Like lets say I put in my neighbor's address, by mistake. Would they be notified (email etc.) that a gift card was activated under their address, or would they be oblivious?

No, but it may affect the billing address used on some websites. My experience with them is that they take any name or address though. Nobody will receive mail based on the gift card activation.

No, for prepaid Visa cards adding an address is simply so you can checkout online if the merchant uses Address Verification (AVS).

Do note that for some high value items, it's best to keep the shipping and billing address the same to avoid having your order be tagged as suspicious.

Just a guess, but based on the post, it seems like it may be difficult for the OP to avoid being tagged as doing something suspicious... It's a suspicious post to say the least.
