Foreign Pre-paid credit cards

Postby raieva » Tue Jan 19, 2016 11:39 am

We are US citizens planning to sail our boat to Cuba (legally) but US credit cards still cannot be used in Cuba and we do not want to carry a lot of cash. Is it possible for a US citizen to obtain a Canadian pre-paid credit card?
Thank you,

If you're going to Cuba there might not be any credit card acceptance at a majority of markets. People use a lot of cash there. When I went to Nassau cash was the most preferred payment everywhere. Only one or two places accepted credit cards that weren't in the malls. (Luckily they all accepted US dollars which someone there told me was the same value as their own dollar - so US dollars is their primary currency).
