4 Chase - trying to decide on closing one
2 Amex
3 Cap 1 combining 2 when I get around to it
1 Comenity - probably closing this month.

Closing and combing to simplify.

Which cards are you considering closing? I've got 4 Chase, too, and am just gardening for a while before I app for another.
Warranties and sketchy merchants: Schwab Platinum
Price rewind: Costco
Travel insurance: Prestige, CSP
Perks: IHG, Hyatt
Rewards/Offers: Discover, Freedom, ED, BCE
Taxes/Misc: SPG

Limited value, might close: Arrival

Might add: First Tech, proper business card

Probably closing my Slate. It's my lowest CL and I really don't have any use for it. I've only used it once and that wasn't even for a balance transfer. Other Chase cards are CSP, Freedom and Marriott and will roll CL into the Freedom.
I want the IHG but will be waiting awhile to app for anything.

I assume the lure of the Slate is a low APR. At a glance, I didn't notice any rewards offered. I do like that the cardholder gets FICO scores (wish that came with Chase Freedom). Which CRA do they use? I need a monthly EQ FICO to fuel my OCD. LOL

No lure on Slate. I got it two years ago on a pre qual mailer before I knew what a BT card or rewards were. LOL. Didn't even have a balance to transfer. I only had one other credit card and couldn't believe I got an offer in the mail. I spent most of my adult life on a cash/check or debit card existence. I've learned a lot since then.
It's an Experian score. I pay monthly for MF.

The Slate doesn't necessarily have a low ongoing APR. IIRC, the ongoing APR range is basically the same as a Chase Freedom (maybe minus 1% or so).

I got a non-rewards Fifth Third card the very same way. Couldn't help myself. LOL I'm glad I have a little more self control nowadays.

Does smoked pheasant taste better when purchased with the Marriott card vs. Sportsman?
