Very interesting. I find it entertaining that people in the comments are saying that AA is fine if it's warranted, but when it's unwarranted it's so disturbing etc etc. The person has 75 inquiries and just got 22K+ in new credit from one lender in two months or less. Crazy.
Amex - BCP, Platinum, Business Gold
BoA - BankAmericard Cash Rewards
Chase - Freedom, CSP, RC, Ink Plus
Citi - DC, Prestige
Discover - It

Typical coddlefest from MyFICOs finest credit hoarders, with a little (restrained) reality mixed in.

The Stash card is still growing in popularity. I think we'll see a flood of people calling to get their AFs waived on the card in 11 months, closing their accounts, and not using the rewards once.
Keeping indefinitely: IHG, SchwabPlat, CSP, Discover, Freedom, ED, BCE, Hyatt
May close or PC: Prestige, Arrival, BrooksBros
AA Platinum converting into Costco

Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold, First Tech
Letting new accounts cool off since May

I'm sorry but it seems like a pretty dumb card for most people. It has a tiny list of hotels that most of those people probably have never even stayed at. Talk about getting cards just to get them.

One poster has literally gotten 5-10 comenity cards in the past week, ostensibly cards they have zero use for. It's scary.

It just shows how different approaches can be.

Stash cardholders see it as a Visa Signature with loose underwriting standards and big CLs that just happens to offer rewards for a few random miscellaneous hotels. Some current cardholders are surprised to learn there's an AF in the second year.

I see Chase IHG as an IHG membership that comes with a MC.

I don't get it when people who have 5 or 6 decent travel cards go for SCT cards that have no perks or rewards of substance.

I guess they're planning on closing the travel cards before the AF...but if accumulating CLs for the sake of CLs is the goal...and the travel cards will be closed in a year, anyway, and go to $0 CL...what's the point?

Chasing SCT cards is just dumb. And then people whine when they get AAd for too many new accounts. Same thing over and over. Everyone thinks they are invincible

And, of course, when there is AA it's always the issuer that's "gone wild with a draconian new policy" and "obviously doesn't want or deserve to keep its loyal and important customers".

But the idea that issuers just take AA against high-risk customers? Or the suggestion that the way to avoid AA is to stop opening and closing accounts all the time, rather than open up 3 cards with the latest "flavor of the month" lender? That's crazy talk!
