It says I can apply for an upgrade. It looks like a PC offer, not an application for a new account. There's a big "Upgrade Now" button.

It says I'm invited because I recently used the card to dine out ($25 at Chipotle two months ago?) and I might like the Platinum Dining Program.

Not today, maybe another day.

Mine says the same thing. I honestly don't know if I've used my Gold Card for much other than Uber in the last 6 months but it's possible and I don't care if I can get 50K MR for something I was already going to do.

I'll let you guys know when I get to the bottom of it. That might be today or it might be in a few weeks. We shall see.

Not bad but I still feel an extra 50K MR for 2K less spend at a more opportune time was worth the EX inquiry for me.

I agree. I'd rather sign up / apply for the card directly in general. Right now I am off all apps / new accounts / inquiries if it is at all possible in any way. And I was also looking to upgrade to the Platinum. I would say, long term, I don't really care about the value of the 50K MR points. The account is more important to me. I know that's opposite of most people's thinking, but I'm just being honest.

Ideally though, I agree Nixon, it's worth the inquiry. Just not right now for me.

So if I can get 50K MR for an upgrade I was already going to do and on spending I was already going to do...I am down.

I may possibly be leaving the garden soon, after all. A relative (financially secure and reliable) who doesn't care about points/miles wants a $3k mattress and would reimburse me by check. I can't find any portals or offers for Tempurpedic.com, and I'm not sure how it would be classified by Discover. It would also be over the quarterly 5%/10% cap on Discover, anyway.

So that's $3k of spending in one transaction with no great alternatives (that I've found). Tempting as minimum spend on something.

ETA: I do still have minimum spend on Hyatt, but I won't have any trouble reaching it. I've just been using EDP a lot this month.
Warranties and sketchy merchants: Schwab Platinum
Price rewind: Costco
Travel insurance: Prestige, CSP
Perks: IHG, Hyatt
Rewards/Offers: Discover, Freedom, ED, BCE
Taxes/Misc: SPG

Limited value, might close: Arrival

Might add: First Tech, proper business card

But what card and with what future?

Citi AA Platinum, most likely. 50k. Bonus hunting, closing in a year if no waived AF.

Or maybe something else.

Any interest in the Thank You Premier?

One of the cards on my maybe list is / was the SPG...fate is now unclear, but shouldn't necessarily affect you in the first year, plus I wouldn't be horribly surprised if they kept both rewards programs and cards for more than a year or two. But who knows...

What else interests you?

Well, apparently time is of the essence on this.

When I'm asking, "Which cards can be overnighted?" it's probably a sign that I should just go with one of my existing cards! :ppp

Just got approved for a Capital One QS Visa. I called in the application status line since I had to submit some extra forms. $3000 credit line, 0% until August 2016, and $100 bonus for spending $500.

Also I moved my Amazon Visa credit line to my Chase Slate to improve my utilization on that card.

Great month for credit so far!

I get all sorts of offers at work. Normally its a Spark or Business Gold. Today was the first Business Plat and it came with a 150k offer. You also get 30% of your points back when you use "pay with points" for travel. (not sure if this is standard on the Plat) You do have to spend $10k in the first 3 months and $10k in the next 3 months for all 150k points.
Chase Freedom $9k~~Chase Sapphire Preferred $6.5k~~Amex Blue Cash Preferred $12.4k~~Citi Double Cash $4.7k
