don't choose Chase

Postby jim49chev@yahoo.com » Fri Apr 23, 2010 8:15 pm

Not only did Chase charge me a $39 late fee (which they took off when I called since I have never been late before) but they charged me interest on every single day that they could, not on what I owed but the total that was charged each day. I paid off the total amount due as soon as I got the bill.
I got the next month's bill today. To my amazement they charged me more interest even though I had paid the entire amount due 15 days before the due date.
The manager had the nerve to tell me that Chase is "required" to charge this interest. I told him that amazingly BOA did not charge me interest the one time I was late paying my bill (in addition BOA took off the $29 late fee). There is a difference between being "required" and being "allowed" by law. Chase is way too arrogant and greedy and just lost a very long time customer. They are penny wise and pound foolish.
I don't think that there are any really good credit card companies. Banks have way too much money and power. Okay, I'll stop there.

Unfortunately, I owe money to chase so I won't be saying goodbye to them for a pretty long time. Their bank is absolutely atrocious. They charge whatever they can and whenever they can. And like all or most banks, if you want to speak to a human being, you're speaking to a robot. and if you want to speak to someone who knows what they're talking about, they transfer you to a customer service rep from Indian with a very weak grip on the English language.

On top of that, their interest rates are outrageous. I paid only $5.00 for a few pool supplies at my local family leisure...which then turned into about $20.00 after interest was implemented. This is why I don't even USE the card anymore. :(

You should start a "I hate Chase club" thread and see what others post. Personally I also strongly dislike Chase (Hate is too strong) declined me a sapphire card for not meeting their requirements... now I have a green Amex, so I guess I got the last laugh haha
Wallet: Amex BCE & Chase Freedom. (Credit Card dieting since 2014)

I didn't like how Chase raised my minimum payment from 2% to 5% because I was using my account for a promo offer.

Aside from that, no issues, but I only use it for whatever the 5% reward categories are.
