Marriott has upgraded their CC sign-up bonus

Postby gregshelley@scrtc.com » Sat Oct 24, 2015 9:05 pm

Marriott has now upgraded their sign up bonus from 50,000 pts with 2K in 90 days to 70,000 pts in 90 for 3K. They e-mailed me this offer right after I got approved the other day for the 50,000 pts one, but Chase submitted it for me to get the 70,000 PT one. Also, Marriott has upgraded my membership level to Silver elite already, and I have not even got my card yet...LOL

The public offer is still 50k. There may be another 70k public promotion before long.

Chase is pretty flexible about requests to change bonuses. That said, it's not guaranteed.

I suggest anyone who is interested in the card wait and apply for the desired offer directly.

Big time. I think I spent 3K for 140K on the RC. And I still got the AF Refunded...

Speaking of AF, AF is coming due on mine I think next month. Debating keeping it or letting it go. Maybe i'll keep it, do the reimbursement and then cancel. :)

Is Chase pretty good with CLI's on the Marriott card? and when should I try to get my AF dropped or refunded? 1 year?

Nixon used a loophole that I'm amazed Chase* hasn't fixed (and blacklisted those who used it). It saves a one-time $395 but for me that's not worth risking my other Chase rewards.

In general, Chase rarely waives annual fees.

*Technically JP Morgan, I suppose.

You're a sophisticated credit user aware you're taking a risk. I just don't want others to get the idea doing it is necessarily a safe thing.
