Debt Relief Help PLEASE. Letters/Templates/Advice needed.

Postby wnicholas » Wed Oct 21, 2015 7:48 pm

So here go's, Ive tried LEXINGTON LAW, CREDIT REPAIR.COM and they have done some help but I am at the point where I know most of this debt is valid with the exception of midland credit who has chose to tack on unrealistic charges/late fees/interest. I am willing to work out plans based on what I owe but have a few questions, its better to settle FULL Amount on your credit report then to settle based on a deal. Also does someone have a letter I can send template saying this is what I agree to and when its paid, it will be cleared or at least satisfied on my CC, my debt Is less then 5k which is good but as you can see my scores are awful. Sprint is on there three times along with credit one through two different companies, I just want to do the right thing here, if its in the wrong spot please remove but I respect any and all input. I also know debt reduction companies might not be the best idea when I can do it myself. Thanks again!

Experian: Score #545

Company: Diversified Consultant (attached collection letter)
Collection for : Sprint
Amount Due :$513.01

Conatact Name: Michael Anna

Notes: Poor Service, could not rec’ service in house, they offered for me to cancel my plan without fee. The original balance due was $163.00
With $350.00 which I refuse to pay. This is a rip off and was never agreed upon.

Please note: Only thing not listed is National Auto Sales on Transunion which is my current car payment.
Also Lexington Law said they removed 3 items off my report which I do not see:
2 from Transunion: Enhanced Receivable, not sure who it was
First Premier Bank CC Removed

1 from Experian: Enhanced Receivable

Maybe CBNA is an auto loan? I misread that as $30k.

For Midland Credit Management, I'm not sure if you're somehow confusing Credit One and Capital One? They are totally different companies. Credit One just has a name and logo similar to Capital One.

As far as Kohls, I wouldn't put too much energy into trying to make them commit to offering you credit again. An issuer can close an account at any time, after all. There are much better cards which you can (eventually) qualify for, and I read a lot of complaints about Kohls credit in general.

ETA: And I don't know very much about credit repair, so I am going to leave those parts alone.

CBNA is the old Citi Bank North America. It is from before their merger with other banks making them Citi Group. Also I doubt he has a legit loan of $30 million that is paid off considering the ~540 credit score. This looks like an error, perhaps a decimal is missing. $30k sounds a lot better.
Chase Freedom $9k~~Chase Sapphire Preferred $6.5k~~Amex Blue Cash Preferred $12.4k~~Citi Double Cash $4.7k

With respect to your Sprint collection, unfortunately, you DID agree to pay it whether it was a ripoff or not. It's your bill plus an early termination fee (ETF). If you needed to dispute your ETF, you needed to have done it in writing, with documentation that you cannot receive service at home (like screenshots of your phone at home that shows signal strength), and preferably BEFORE you stopped paying (or stopped your service).

Credit One - yep, the charges are legit. It's one of the most notorious loan sharks in the industry but every fee and interest they charged you is legal. It also wouldn't have gone to collections unless it was 6 months of nonpayment, so interest and fees on an original $600 in 6 months can easily compound to total $1K.
