I'm not one to chase after every extra penny by opening a special new card for every extra 0.5% on every possible category I may spend on. To me that's ridiculous and a waste of time, but to each their own.

People have stated there are rumors about a new card from Capital One coming out soon but I don't see what they would really do since they already have a psuedo "travel" card and a regular cash back card so I guess the new card would probably be some rotating category thing, which I honestly have grown weary of. It's annoying waiting to see what Discover will decide on for 5% each quarter. Generally, they make "good", broad selections, but I wish the card just had a few permanent categories. Q4 isn't bad, dept, clothing and Amazon but those are not exactly a bulk of my spend so it hasn't gotten much use. Perhaps the dept store thing will come in handy for Christmas shopping, but I can elect that on my cash+ also, so...meh.

I would not be surprised if Citi is releasing some new or a new card (other than the Costco card). My fiancé has the Diamond Preferred and they send her an offer for the Double Cash about twice a week, if not more. She earns nothing on the Diamond Preferred and spends decent money on it so, despite her aversion to listening to me on credit-related matters of any kind, she is interested in PCing to the double cash but does not want another card and so won't apply directly. She called a couple months ago and they told her to call after October 1 or something like that. She ended up calling about a week or so ago and they told her that no PCs will be granted to anyone for a couple of months because they are making a lot of changes to their card offerings or something fairly close to that / along those lines.

I also think someone else posted that they are saying the same type of thing on MyFICO. I'm not sure. She wouldn't push them if they told her no, so that's also a factor I suppose. But the point was that he told her that there are changes coming to the card portfolio overall as I understood it...

Gardening through early 2016, and indefinitely after that based on my need to fly and the availability of a nice signup bonus.

My focus is on airfare bonuses now. I am all set with "keeper" cobranded hotel, cash back, and UR/MR cards.

*...assuming the Schwab Amex won't be anything that interests me.*

It is kind of nice to have a resilient AAoA. It was at just over a year before Hyatt, and will be back to that age within a few more weeks.
Love: IHG, Platinum, Sallie Mae, AA Plat, CSP
Like: Discover, ED, BCE, Hyatt, Arrival, Freedom
Might drop: BrooksBros, Prestige (Costco PC?)
Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold
Letting new accounts cool off since May
Really not sure what I'll add next or when

You're back on the EDP for every day spend? What happened? Or it's just temporary for the Hyatt minimum spend?

Double Cash doesn't interest you in any way?

I'm still using EDP at Costco.

I'll meet minimum spend on Hyatt pretty easily between a paid stay, dining, and miscellaneous expenses. I might not hit 30 transactions on EDP this statement, though, so I'll use Sallie for gas and groceries. As other cards are useful, I'll use them. I'm not in a rush to miss out on good "regular spend" rewards to hit Hyatt's minimum spend. I'm very happy with my original offer, and don't need to switch like I did with IHG.

Double Cash doesn't interest me. It has no bonus, and I can beat 2 cpp through Hyatt redemptions.

The dilemma for me is: Will I keep EDP after Costco goes Visa?

How much cheaper is Costco than a regular supermarket?

Would you at a minimum try to change to Everyday and drop the annual fee? Or you may get rid of the account altogether?

The EDP interests me but I would have to try really hard to make it useful even if I ignore some of the intense overlap between my current cards and that card. I like the idea of the bonus for swipes type of thing, but ultimately it won't benefit me to have the card and I certainly could not justify the annual fee on the EDP as things stand.

I am likely not going to be getting any additional cards any time soon. I can't really think of any that I don't have that I could find a real use for.

I intend to focus on increasing credit limits and decreasing APRs, the latter being less of a concern.

My AAoA is good already. I have a lot of inquiries and two negatives that will eventually fall off...they're both already pretty old, but I wish they were gone. They are definitely pinning my scores down like crazy.

I find Costco a good value, but I do also shop at traditional grocery stores for specialty items and some perishables. I don't know what prices your particular alternatives charge. The gas is about 10%-15% cheaper than competing stations.

Costco-brand wine includes some varieties for $7 that rival a lot of $30 bottles.

As far as EDP, I'm not going to try to predict what Amex's policies will be several months from now. A retention offer would be nice. Maybe I could "double PC" EDP to ED and BCE to BCP. I'll keep my cards open so I have more options...even if I don't know exactly what they will look like in several months.

And once the Amex / Visa switch is done you'll maintain you're shopping habits at Costco and change your card preference correct?

Keeping Costco Executive membership. Will use CSP at Costco unless another card is having some promotion. Considered moving some investments to BofA for a 2.625% cash back travel rewards card, but decided it wasn't worth it...at least as long as UR program remains strong.

I don't care for BoA too much. They're my first bank and first credit card.
