I won't lie, my participation here has increased exponentially since being "Impeached" from MyFICO, but it really is refreshing to be posting on a site where people arent constantly bitching about how they can't get prime cards with 550 FICOs and resulting applying for every Comenity store card to fill a void.

In short, I think you'll like it here where the mods leave you alone and don't ban you for questioning them.

 Ya got that right,,not trying ot knock anyone but just gets so old those post of " Approved, when can I get CLI? no stats needed just call credit solutions,etc.... then if someone does say something other than go for it, app,you deserve more then folks get upset saying they're not supportive....
I've been a member there a little over 2 yrs. and seems like it just gets worse and worse,,,so what I just got bk discharged where's my 10k + SL on every card..or the nerve to decline me or give me a toy limit....Seems some are feeding this sense of entitlement to the rebuilders....

I have a theory on that, actually. They feel like they are getting one over on the creditor when someone plainly unqualified gets approved or a credit limit increase. What they don't realize that the creditor is more than willing to give you enough rope to hang yourself with.

Credit can be a liability just as much as it can be a tool. In the hands of some on that site it's just as dangerous as a claymore.

I'll probably catch it but I am branching out from MyFico. Still learning how things work here..so far so good...I am basically trying to make it to the next level the "800" club and debt free.

Welcome (again)! I myself have never posted on MyFico, but I've gotten plenty of entertainment value from it here...without having to wade through all the BS.

I'm also trying to make it to the 800 club...but I recently got a mortgage so the debt free thing won't be happening for a LONG time!

I really can't think of any currently-available cards I don't already have that would be worth getting and keeping.

I'm not averse to the idea of new cards in general, but they would be cards I'd only get for the bonus.

I'm committed enough to AA that I wish I had the Barclaycard Aviator to keep, but not committed enough to get and keep any of the available Citi AA cards.

I doubt Citi's Costco Visa will offer rewards on warehouse purchases good enough to beat the value I can get with URs.

I'm still curious about the Schwab Amex (mostly in the unlikely event of a rewards multiplier based on assets at Schwab), but 9 of my 14 inquiries are on EX and I have enough new accounts.

Plus, if I want a Schwab card and can't PC to it, it could be worth waiting for a special signup bonus to apply.

So no apps planned, but in the unlikely event I do apply, it would just be for a bonus...and I'm feeling very selective about getting a good bonus.

What is the intended use for the Hyatt account? Just for the sign up bonus? Do you have Hyatts in a place you regularly go away or anything? I always find the Ritz card so tempting but I just don't see how I'll use it for much other than its direct perks with all the other cards I have (and I'm thinking of PCing the Gold to Platinum - and, yes, I am aware that the Gold card is considered useless on this forum, but with my spending / card line up I would need to spend a significant amount of money on the PRG just on airfare for it to be worth it and it's money that simply would not be spent).

Curious about the Hyatt card though. Thanks.

Curious about the Hyatt card though. Thanks.

One nice thing about Hyatt is that I can get a good value for the points at both mid-tier properties like Hyatt Place, as well as at premium properties.

If you actually stay at full-service Marriott and R-C properties, why not just get the Ritz card and drop the Amex charge card altogether? The cent-per-point value isn't that great, but regular use of status and the upgrade certificates can be worth a lot. The problem I've faced has been that my stays have mostly been at limited-service (but high-category) properties where status wouldn't get me much, anyway, but award nights cost a lot of points.

Ritz has the $300 airfare credit (though I hear it's a nuisance to get). PRG's annual fee is only $35 more but gives a $100 airfare credit. If you fly often enough to need a Platinum's perks, then a $100 airfare credit should surely be worth $35. Or do you just want it for dining access/concierge service/SPG Gold/impressing people?

I'm really puzzled as to why you want Platinum.
