My Jaw dropped seeing this, called in and the lady wasn't kidding when she congratulated me. Easily crushed the limits on my other cards. Also apped for the AAdvantage Plat, got a 4k limit. She wanted me to move my limit around on my Forward card, but I'll pay it off and the move it to make it 5k. I think I'm done apping for a little while now lol.

I'm glad to hear you got the cards you wanted. Venture's not one I'd have gone for, but I tend to focus on rewards and care less about CLs and APRs, so my priorities are different.

Congrats on your new card and limit! Definitely if you can wait a bit now to app for other cards that you got the new card I think that would probably be in your best interest. Anecdotally, I can attest to established CLs having an impact on new CLs. I have the exact same CL - which honestly is much more than I need - on 3 of my main 4 cards, and slightly more on the 4th. As soon as I hit it with one I found the other 3 perfectly willing to match.

Credit standards on Venture seem pretty relaxed lately. I recently saw one person on MF get a $10k Venture 5 months after Ch 7. That person might not have burned CO and/or had a high income, though.

It's good for an applicant to show history and experience with a $10k CL, but it won't address some issuers' concerns that an applicant already has enough credit relative to income and assets.

Most MF fads will ultimately end poorly for the people taking advantage of them.
Chase Freedom $9k~~Chase Sapphire Preferred $6.5k~~Amex Blue Cash Preferred $12.4k~~Citi Double Cash $4.7k
