The Citi luv button became available again for me. I doubted they would give me anything since I haven't paid more than the minimum since the last time I asked for a cli. Sure enough I got a decline. I'll try again after I pay down the balance a bit more. Seems like you can ask once per statement without a hard pull.

Amex is still not reporting. I'd really like it to as I put all my large transactions on the DC so I could ask for the 3x cli. My utilization is showing 42% when in fact it is much more like 20%. The CSR I spoke to today told me it can take up to 6 months before it starts reporting. So I guess I have that to look forward to...

Once my income increases and/or utilization decreases on my cards, I'll look into financing an auto loan. I'm eyeballing a Fiat 500 through Carmax, possibly, so I'm not looking at anything hardcore at least for now. I could have a new career in the not too distant future that would increase my income substantially, so I'm just laying low for now.

Congratulations on the year Marriott Anniversary, any idea where you'll use your free night?

I plan on staying in the garden this month, maybe even closing some of my chase cards, combing the limits first of course. Trying to tidy up show a little bit as I have too many cards at the moment (21 ish)

No apps planned.

I've redeemed most my Arrival rewards (travel statement credits), so I'm pretty indifferent about the "10% back" falling to 5%. It's really kind of a silly way to do cash back. I still haven't actually used the chip, as the only local merchants with chip readers I've been to lately have been grocery stores and restaurants. EDP/CSP rewards are too good to pass up on.

I'm still working through miscellaneous gift cards, too.

My dining and miscellaneous travel expenses (things I couldn't use a co-branded card well for) are up, so I've been making good use of CSP.

May close or PC: Prestige, Arrival, BrooksBros

Hard to believe it's already August. I don't imagine I will be app'ing for any cards this month as I'm pretty happy with what I've got. I'm really beginning to dislike the Discover IT double cashback promo going on simply because I want my bonus cashback now and not at the end of the 12th billing cycle. I'm impatient that way :)
Kohls: $300, Discover IT: $1.8k, Capital One Quicksilver: $2k, Amazon Store Card: $2.2k, BoA Cash Rewards: 1k, Chase Freedom: 3.2k, AMEX HHonors 3k

Vermonster: Amex usually starts reporting much sooner. How are you monitoring your reports?

It's a bit odd, but a lot of people are very concerned about the timing of when rewards post. Barclaycard and (I think) Capital One make rewards available once a transaction posts. Amex takes about 35 days after a statement closes to make MRs available - so potentially two months after an early-in-the-statement transaction posts.

If you want to transfer your points to travel programs and book ASAP, then timing absolutely matters. If it's just cash/ordinary gift cards, I'm perfectly happy to wait.

How much are you using Discover? It's your highest-earning card for off-category stuff and Amazon, so I'd expect you'd be using it heavily - even with the wait for the extra rewards. I guess your two Amazon cards will stay in the sock drawer, with Freedom's Q4 Amazon category?

Credit.com, Credit Karma, Credit sesame, and Experian Credit Tracker. Experian notified me of a HP before Amex showed my instant approval, so I know it can be fast. I had heard you needed a minimum of one statement that reports a balance. Lots of people don't see $0 balances reporting. My last statement closed on the 20th with a $400 out of $12,400 balance. Still nothing as of today.

I find the online chat with Amex CSRs is nothing more than talking to an operator. Both times they have told me to call a specific number to talk to someone. Well the reason I don't call is because I can't always talk.

Yup, Discover has been getting use except for the past couple of weeks when I've relied on my Capital One (when in Canada) and my BoA (Due to the 12 month 0% APR promo). However once I get the BoA card paid off I'll be using Discover and Chase Freedom. The Amazon Store card has a purchase I financed so that is also in the process of getting paid off. And lastly the other Amazon card has my Netflix charge on it so it's seeing a little action as well. And now that I think of it Capital One is got a recurring donation on it as well so it's seeing some use.

I'm toying with the idea of letting Sallie Mae close for inactivity. EDP and Discover make it pretty useless for the rest of 2015, and Barclaycard doesn't invite me to any of their promotional rewards programs.

If Sallie Mae somehow survives nerfing, but BCE/EDP/PRG do suffer, then I can always look for some nice signup bonus on a travel card.
