LOL my favorite is when companies encourage us to do it because they say it's green. I'm sure it is but the real green they care about is the green they're saving by not having to print and mail statements.
I would be more motivated to sign up if they offered a financial incentive, maybe a $10 credit to my account to sign up. Sprint did that a couple years ago to enroll in online billing and I did it just for that reason. You figure the cost of printing and mailing a statement is probably close to a dollar so they should be offering some kind of incentive if they want more people to do it.
I made one purchase on a card I don't use often and paid it right away with online banking. I never got a statement that month even though I used that credit card. I called them up and they say they don't send statements if you don't owe anything. That surprised me I thought they would send statements every month as long as there's activity on the account.
