I think he did too. I don't get it. He makes a thread and then freaks out about how he doesn't care what anyone says...so what was the point?

Nevertheless, hope he's happy with his decision

The point is - obviously just beyond anyone's ability to grasp.

It's to keep a record of what I do and learn so that others can take what they can use from that for their own purposes. Or just get a laugh. Doesn't matter to me one way or the other.

I don't care if you post your opinion on how I should run my life - doesn't bother me at all. All I said is, I don't care and I'm not running my life according to your opinion and views. Feel free to post your opinion of whatever you think I should do for all I care. It's just that it will be as big a waste of time as it apparently is for me to post here.

You may however be in luck - I questioned whether I would even bother with this site today. The more I come here the more I see it's not a place I want to be.

It's harder for folks to come together and share experiences and simply listen

Than it is for folks to come together and start debating about whose method is best

In any case, i think if everyone thought the same way, it would be very boring.

Than again there are some fine lines that shouldn't be crossed either, and you guys are taking it a midge too seriously it seems.

I'm sure you're all like me though when you're off the internet, your mind goes back to running in that rat race of a hamster wheel (:

I agree. Also, MembersSince99 has no problem insulting others (individual posters on myfico, here, his boss, coworkers, ex-gf, landlord, and on and on). But he gets upset (and denies that he is) over the comparatively mild critiques people have given him? This is a case of the cliche, "If you can't take it, don't dish it."

I dont think I could narrow my cards down to 4. If I had to it would be Marriott, Delta, Discover, and Freedom I guess.
Platinum Delta Skymiles $12,900
Marriott Rewards Premier $12,000
Discover IT $12,000
USAA Cash Rewards $11,000
American Express Blue Cash Preferred $10,000
Chase Sapphire Preferred $6,500
Best Buy $6,000
Chase Freedom $4,500
Zales $4,000
Amazon Prime $4,000

I'm pretty happy with my approach of having a higher number of cards, but limiting the number of different issuers (or, more accurately, the number of card websites I need to log into) and putting most of my spending on three rewards currencies (MRs, URs, Discover cash).

I find enough use for Arrival (in the bonus portal and soon having a PIN card) to keep doing business with Barclaycard. I know I could easily do without Sallie Mae, but as long as I'm keeping Arrival, I might as well keep Sallie Mae open (for when it's my best Amazon card). Along the same lines, BCE occasionally has a nice offer.

Brooks Brothers is a different story. I could possibly use it again sometime in the future, so I'm not going to go out of my way to close it. Between CK and logging in to the issuer website once or twice a month, it's not much of a hassle to monitor for fraud. Either the account stays open and I use it when it's convenient, or I squeeze a little more history out of it before it goes inactive.

I do buy clothing there, but the "cardmember exclusive" deals seem to have become less exclusive.

That's a bummer. I keep thinking about getting that card just for that reason. I did get an Amex Offer not too long ago of spend $200 and get $50 credit. I was able to coincide it with the last big sale around Father's Day and get five shirts for <$200 when it was all said and done. I was stoked :D

I did the same thing with my PRG...and the Arrival portal for another 6%. :D

I'm surprised Barclaycard hasn't fixed that...
