When I was getting my mac laptop and I called them about some promo for financing but they said none was available so I put it on my AMEX Delta then all of a sudden them email me one saying it was available until May of this year. I was so unhappy about that so I doubt I'll use my Barclay for any Apple products.

I'd rather have 12% cash back with Discover.

(1% base + 5% for the online shopping portal), doubled as part of a special promotion.

Don't own a Discover and not a big fan of them so I just opted to get the extra miles and pay it off ASAP

Only Discover owns a Discover card.

I saw Seinfeld's "The Contest" the other day. A gardening variant might be unusual. Would anyone be interested, if I put some rules together?

The goal would be to avoid getting new cards you don't really need. Mortgages, car loans, rent inquiries, etc. would be fine.

*No idea for what any rewards could be, but perhaps the bottom half of participants could have to all app for something from Comenity?

I just made my first Amex CLI request. I have $4,500 on EDP, and requested $10,000. I got the 7-10 days message.

Aww don't do that to me. I'm coming up on my 61 day mark next Friday. I know that gravy train has dried up a bit, but I still was hopeful. (TBH I wouldn't give me any more of a CL. )

If you come up with the rules and rewards I might be into it.

New Discover FICOs came up. I was expecting a big jump downwards this month because (a) three new cards reported (Venture, Cash+ #2, Carlson Visa), (b) 2 new inquiries reported, and (c) I let a lot of balance report, including $2600+ on the Venture ($15k limit).

But the drop was 3 points, so I guess I did ok. The usual nagging about not much of an AAoA (I know 1.2 years won't cut it) and no installment account is still there, but I believe their impact on FICO 08 is lower than FICO 04 / Beacon whatever other animals are there.

How's the Cap One consolidation coming through over here?
AMEX BCE | PRG || Barclaycard Sallie Mae || Capital One QuickSilver | Venture || Chase Freedom | Sapphire Preferred || Citi Dividend || Discover It || UFCU Great Rate || US Bank Cash+ #1 | Cash+ #2 | Club Carlson Plat | REI || Total CL $144.2k + PRG NPSL, not counting AU

Balances not reporting is overrated.

The only times I ever saw scores drop due PURELY to balances is when I let several cards report with over 30% utilization on each.

I got the full CLI. My "available credit" on EDP on the Amex website rose $5,500.

No email or letter has arrived yet.

This is my first $10k card. I know I could have gotten one earlier, but I'm glad I took a little longer and got a high CL on a super-useful card.

Late last night I decided to push the limits again. I know Amex is very strict about 180 days since last cli, so that isn't changing. And Chase will only do it for HP, plus they are calculating a bunch of student loans incorrectly do my debt to to income looks really bad. So that left Citi.

You hear a lot about how they only take HPs for cli unless it's an auto. Well with the new site, there is a luv button, and it tells you when a SP cli is available. I debated it for a while seeing as how my account is barely 61 days old. But in the end I figured "the worst they can say is no." Instant $750 increase. Better, and I'll take it, but I still feel like Citi is being too conservative with me.

For those of you looking for it, It is under "account management" then "request a credit line increase." It will tell you if they will pull your credit report, which they can and will do even if accounts are frozen. Also it is a soft pull if you only enter you income and rent/mortgage. It is a hard pull if you enter a specific credit limit.
