I think we can agree that - assuming it wasn't a card for business or some other limited use - having a charge card with a $195 AF doesn't make much sense if you end up using a debit card.

If people want to use debit, it doesn't mean they're idiots....everyone has their own preferences and they do what works for them. Some people end up overspending with credit cards, so they control themselves by not using credit for every purchase. Yes, you are able to use it for everything and pay it off, but everyone isn't like that, so they may use debit to help control themselves.

Or they simply aren't aware of the benefits of the credit cards...or maybe they simply don't care about 1-2% in rewards, and again, that's their prerogative. Some people don't want to bother with it.

I agree, but I'd like to say

I rather have "flippin' idiots" that use debit cards and lose out on the potential 1-2%, maybe 3-5% of cash back..but use money they actually have

Than to run up the bill, pay through the nose in apr or flick off the cc company with the bill but actually passes it along to us regular folks..

Yeah, I'll take a flippin' idiot that is at least responsible for their $$ more than the ones whose getting the cashback.[/quote]

Right. If they cannot manage their money they shpuld be using debit.

I do agree that paying for an AF charge card when youre going to use debit seems silly but this woman was seen with ONE transaction. So really cannot assume anything as to why she used debit.

I know this thread is a bit old, but I noticed two things in the last few days that might interest you:
1. Amex had a pro-gay rights tweet after SCOTUS ruling (June 26).
2. Discover has a rainbow-themed card design called "Pride". I'm not sure when it appeared.

I don't think it looks too bad on the website, but if it's like other Discover cards lately (with the colors darker than they should be), then it might be pretty ugly.

I've not seen one in person. I barely see any Discover cards in general, though. I do keep an eye out when I'm in line to see what others are using. Mostly I see True Earnings, Jet Blue, and Marriott cards.
