The ONLY debit I use for fast food is my Discover Checking. And that is ONLY for ~$2 transactions. Doesn't make sense to use for anything else.

Alrighty guys and gals I've returned from "hell" AKA work with credit card tallies. So the sales (cash and credit/debit cards) tonight from (4PM to 11PM CDT) came in at about $2700. Here's the rundown:
Mileage Plus: 2
AMEX Gold: 1
Amazon Rewards: 1
Chase Freedom: A whopping.....3
Bank Americard: 1
Capital One Platinum: 1
Discover: 2
AMEX BCP: 1
BoA Cash Rewards: 1
Chase Slate: 1

Card sales came in with Visa taking the lead followed by Mastercard, AMEX, and Discover. Surprisingly as the numbers show above (I know this is a small sample) Chase Freedom nor Discover saw an increase in use during Q2.
Kohls: $300, Discover IT: $1.8k, Capital One Quicksilver: $2k, Amazon Store Card: $2.2k, BoA Cash Rewards: 1k, Chase Freedom: 3.2k, AMEX HHonors 3k

Well, that's clearly some consistency with Discover and Freedom. I'm surprised to hear the United Plus cards. I didn't think that card was very prevalent.

Rarely eat at fast food places, mostly "casual dining" establishments. But there are times, particularly when traveling (by car or towing my trailer) that fast food makes sense.

That said, I never use my debit card. If traveling, I'll choose a specific card to put all my ground travel expenses on, and use that for the entire trip, then pay it off when the trip is over.

Sometimes I'll use an AMEX as a debit card, and simply pay the bill a few days later.

My CSP was declined by the cashier at a BK the other day because it wouldn't swipe and they didn't like the idea that the numbers were on the back and looked different. I guess they don't see a lot of DC, Penfed, or TD Bank debit cards.

You've already hit your $1,500 on Freedom? Or just wanted to use CSP? ;)

I have issues with those pesky customers with their thick cards. My swiper doesn't like them too much. I suppose it feels that it's too good for those posh looking cards :ppp

Needing to get a few extra dollars for the min spend on the CSP. And trying to hide the charges from the wife so she doesn't beat me for eating fast food :beat:

Well, the second part I won't opine on...but giving up an opportunity to use Freedom well has got to be a little painful. Still, you can't miss the big CSP bonus.

I earned my CSP bonus between January and March. I had groceries on Freedom, gas on Discover, and used CSP for everything else. I was pretty bummed out about being denied the oversubscribed Amex NYC Restaurant "Week" offer ($5 off each $30-ish meal at select restaurants over the course of a few weeks) but it put me closer to the $4k spend.
