That was 6/12 and there has been no response. Is this Barclays CS we are talking about here. Sure seems like it.
I pointed out it's been almost two weeks instead of two days and there has been no response and told them all I wanted was the card to be a signature card. I specified that NO I do NOT mean a Chip and Signature card but the TYPE of card (because they don't seem to know the difference).
You'd think I was asking for the whole wide world with what seems to me to be a pretty simple request. I am SO not impressed with Chase CS thus far. I don't see how offshoring it could make it much if any worse. These are Americans, sad to say.
I'm pretty sure you'll just have to wait the year. That's their policy on signature upgrades from every source I've heard.
I'm sure MS99 would be fine with this IF they hadn't misinformed him in the first place.
Just like I plan on getting my Freedom converted to VS in Nov/Dec of this year and my CS converted to another Freedom.
That's my beef - they told me it would be a Signature card in the first place. Now they finally respond with this:
Thank you for advising Chase of the circumstances
surrounding your request for a Visa Signature card for
We do apologize, however the Visa Signature card is only
available after an account is open for over twelve months.
For this reason, we are unable to change your account
ending in xxXXXX to the Visa Signature card. In addition,
there is no one person that can over ride this process to
convert it to a Visa Signature as requesting as per bank
policy. We regret the inconvenience this may cause.

At least they didn't try to blame the CARD act for it. (Has nothing to do with it, it's a Chase internal policy).
I don't know what more really needs to be or should be said here, but I can tell you as a result of this, I think a good deal less of the customer "service" Chase gives. This is the sort of thing I'd expect from Barclays.
I honestly doubt I'll have this card a year from now. I sure won't be using it in any case. I specifically told these people if it can't be a Signature card I'll leave one of the others open that is. They assured me it would be. Just not happy here.
But then again I'm looking to downsize cards and I'm not afraid to close one that's over a 20k limit (done it before). So maybe it's a favor in the long run.
