Chase.

Postby Nixon » Wed Jun 10, 2015 10:45 pm

Okay, So I noticed it's been discussed everywhere BUT here....

What is up with Chase lately? Apparently there is a new policy to not approve non-cobrand/UR earning cards if you've had more than 5 new accounts in the last 2 years.

Glad I got as many Chase cards as was sanely possible when I did. :)

Lol..

Well, I was thinking the bigger picture. While I like spend bonuses aplenty, I'm definitely tied now more than ever as we are going to be mortgage shopping over the next year.

My original plan was to go with a couple of Chase cards and about 3-4 more on top of that. Now I'll just stick with the Chase cards and go with 1 more like AMEX BCP or Citi Double Cash. I'm not a big 'card collector' to begin with, and I like Chase for banking, so don't want to run afoul of them.
Wallet: Chase Freedom, Discover IT

I love Chase banking 's quick pay option the most; apparently BOA charges fees for the same functionality. Otherwise nothing special about their banking. I got one because it's close to work and I thought having one account would help me get a credit card easily. Didn't get a card for a year and a half despite having direct deposit. Figured out that for me, having the bank account isn't all that important. Right now just too many other accounts are linked to it so I just ley it be.

Free money getting tighter, they needed to do something, I guess. Good luck with the mortgage. I hope the new accounts help you with the scores.
