Back on topic though. How's your gardening doing?

It's going. There's really nothing I even yearn for right now. With Discover's double reward promotion especially, making it at least 2% back on everything I have no reason to apply for anything

Same. The wife's Discover as of tomorrow is effectively earning 4% on everything which is approaching spend bonus territory.

How do you come up with 4%? Based on spending in the 5% categories which will be doubled to 10%? I'm confused

The card has a 2%-all/7%-category promo for the next year. The double cashback doubles this in effect making for 4%/14%

With that deal there is absolutely no reason to even care about applying for any cards anytime soon.

Which BoA were you going for?

The rewards on that card can certainly be high for very light spending.

I thought you were in the process of simplifying your cards, though. What exactly are your criteria for pruning cards?
Very useful: SchwabPlat, CSP, IHG, Costco (was AA Plat), Freedom, SPG
Somewhat useful: Discover, ED (was EDP), BCE, Hyatt, Arrival
May close or PC: Prestige, BrooksBros

Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold, First Tech
