Some months, yes. Not every month, but some. But the 250 grocery limit would be kinda limiting.
Not for someone who also has an EDP, though?
True, the EDP would cover my yearly spend with no issue and give a comparable rate of return.
Truth be told though I actually don't use the cards based on rewards - I give the swipes to the lenders who show they want the business, in deed rather than in word. Barclays keeps sending me checks saying they want my business but when I requested a CLI they turned me down flat. Sorry boys but that isn't going to get you any business. Same with Sync - the Amazon Prime card offers 5% on Amazon which I do a lot of spend on, but I'd honestly rather give the swipes to someone who has shown me they want the busineess, thus i'm shifting my swipes to cards that give a lower return rate because I'd rather do business with those who want that business and are willing to prove it.
I know most folks don't do it that way. I do plan to use a LOT of my Citi Double Cash once I pay off the balance on it, as a reward for the nice limit they gave me as well as the great general spend rewards (2%). That worked out nicely.
