May 2015 Garden Cult thread please join us

Postby MemberSince99 » Thu Apr 30, 2015 8:05 am

Well May is almost here, you know that special time of year when the flowers start to come up. Yes the seeds we have planted in our gardens start to bloom, reminding us once again what a horrible thing it is to apply for credit and ruin all that hard work. (Just ask 09 if you don't believe me).

So happy happy spring, when we can enjoy our beautiful gardens, and in that spirit of the season, let's make sure we do not apply for any credit, which is not only a sin but a terrorist act against the cult of the garden.

Me, I'm in the garden. I would like to increase my Amazon prime card limit to over 5k and after 4 months with it that's certainly a possibility (and I don't even have to leave the garden to do it) and since that's my last card under 5k, that would be a great thing. Also my Amex SP CLI eligibility is coming up in a couple of months (July 1st) but again that won't cause me to leave the garden. I probably have too many cards I just don't feel like closing any of them. If I HAD to lose one, I'd probably lose the Arrival Plus OR the BofA Travel Rewards card, but honestly they are both good cards so I really don't want to dump either.

That's it for me how about for you? How do you show your devotion to the garden?

I was in the Garden from October of 2012 up until April, minus an unexpected car loan and a student loan.

I came out of the garden for a CLI on the Freedom and apping for the CSP. Both successful after recon. I'm going back into the garden until about July so that some inqs can fall off and my score can increase a bit before I app for an Amex.
Chase Freedom $9k~~Chase Sapphire Preferred $6.5k~~Amex Blue Cash Preferred $12.4k~~Citi Double Cash $4.7k

I assume that's some sort of account in collections? Something you've been unable to dispute or negotiate away?

I've been in the garden since yesterday.

I have been in the garden for three months or so. To further show my dedication to gardening, I have frozen my TransUnion report, and soon Equifax and Experian should be frozen also.
Citi Forward Visa $5000 10/2012 | American Express Blue Cash Everyday $8000 2/2014 | Discover it $7000 5/2014
Chase Freedom Visa Signature $7000 6/2014 | Citi ThankYou Premier Visa Signature $5000 1/2015
All EMV.

Medical that never showed up until just this month. It is from January 2009 and is due for deletion in January. They will not PFD, So I have no reason to give them penny one.

Put a dunce cap on me and sit me in the corner because I'm not making it through May.

I am under contract on a house, so the bank will be pulling credit again when we close late in May.

It looks like most of my travel for a while will be domestic, so the Chip+PIN Arrival+ can wait. I still want one (or something similar) eventually. I would definitely downgrade it before the AF kicked in.

Congrats! Hope it all goes well, and that you're getting good terms. When it comes to credit, good terms on a mortgage can certainly make signup bonuses pretty trivial!

And already my travel plans may be changing. I might need a Chip+PIN card sooner, rather than later. The reasons are complicated, but the destination has not been determined. Austria, Italy, and/or Norway are possibilities.

I was doing so well gardening since July 2014, when temptation got a stranglehold upon me once more. After being screwed out of so many great concert tickets because of the vile "Citi pre-sales," I applied for the Citi Double Cash card for the sole reason of eliminating this roadblock!! But now my AAoA has been massacred thanks to my spineless ways, all for my pure enjoyment of going to concerts! I am a horrible soul, an embarrassment to society, and I deserve the electric chair or a firing squad for the evil I have committed! Please forgive me and cleanse me of my sins, O Gardening Lord!!! I am not worthy of being let back in the sacred paradise and Heaven known as "The Garden!" :(
