Everyday card

Postby amex007 » Thu Apr 09, 2015 3:34 pm

What's your every day card?
I think most people will say CSP. Mine was amex ED but think i'll put that aside since i have a balance on it and need to pay it down.
So my current card will be amex Gold and sometimes chase Hyatt. The amex Gold keeps me in line since i have to PIF.
Amex Gold NPSL | Amex ED 28500 | Barclaycard Arrival 17500 | Hyatt visa signature 5000
sockdrawer-- GM 4000 | Unionplus 2200

Because I'm not a heavy traveler, my everyday is card is my Quicksilver unless I'm utilizing a bonus category on Discover.

My Everyday card would be the Marriott Card from Chase. Some would argue the Freedom would be better for Marriott reward transfer, but I enjoy using the direct Marriott card and I like the look/feel of the card. It is simpler for me this way.

How do you like that card? I was recently approved, and not sure if it's going to be worth while or not to be Everyday Purchase card.

Freedom, CSP, and Discover It. Was using AARP for a while too and now that I have the Sams Club Mastercard, I think I'll be using that most for gas when neither Discover It or Freedom have 5% on that category.
Macy's TLs (21k), Lowes (17k), CSP (10k), Sam's Club (10k), Nordstrom (5k), AARP (4.2k), Freedom (3k), Discover (1.5k), Quicksilver (2k), BoA (3k), Barclaycard Arrival (2.5k), Amazon Store (6k), Paypal (4.9k), Sam's Club MC (3.6k), Walmart MC (1.2k)

Right now I'm only carrying the BCP and IT cards. If they don't take Amex or Discover I have my checkcard. After this quarter I'll proly put the IT back in the sock drawer and get my CSP out.

Citi Forward for restaurant; Amex BCE for grocery. I put most spending in these two categories.
Citi Forward Visa $5000 10/2012 | American Express Blue Cash Everyday $8000 2/2014 | Discover it $7000 5/2014
Chase Freedom Visa Signature $7000 6/2014 | Citi ThankYou Premier Visa Signature $5000 1/2015
All EMV.

I use several every day but the default for non-category spend is the CSP.

Right now it's Discover and Sallie Mae. The first for dining and the second for groceries. I'm going to build up some balances on Discover because (a) it's 10k limits for me and (b) 0% APR for 12 months. Once I finish up the quota of 1.5k on dining, I might move on to Freedom for dining and everything else on Discover.
AMEX BCE | PRG || Barclaycard Sallie Mae || Capital One QuickSilver | Venture || Chase Freedom | Sapphire Preferred || Citi Dividend || Discover It || UFCU Great Rate || US Bank Cash+ #1 | Cash+ #2 | Club Carlson Plat | REI || Total CL $144.2k + PRG NPSL, not counting AU
