I know they check EQ and I know they like thin files (my EQ AAoA is 11 months oddly enough) but EQ is down near 610 until my util drops. I have a baddie that's due to drop off all reports 11/15. Maybe I'll wait until then to get the 'spree' rolling.

Discover is strange and inconsistent sometimes. There's still a lot about them I haven't quite figured out. But I think the derog is the biggest reason disco keeps denying you..

What idea is that?
Very useful: SchwabPlat, CSP, IHG, Costco (was AA Plat), Freedom, SPG, Prestige (retention)
Somewhat useful: Discover, ED (was EDP), BCE, Hyatt
SD with activity alerts, might close: Arrival

Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold, First Tech, BofA Travel PH, Aviator Red

He doesn't bother with CUs at all basically. That's what I was hinting at in the comment.

I tried to get a Fidelity AMEX today. The final person I talked to, a Sr. Customer resolutions specialist/Sr. Analyst/Sr. Whatever brought up my paid C/O with BoA 7 years ago.

Everyone else for the most part said it was the new accounts. :p

Is it the gas and grocery card that you want? Or the travel, dining, and entertainment one?

Are the travel card's rewards transferrable like MRs and URs? Or it's more of a travel statement credit at an enhanced rate?

At first glance, the cards look pretty good, but not good enough to make you drool (since you have great cards already). What am I missing?

The obvious--my alleged interest interest in that card is, much like the card itself, a joke.

Got it.

With a little further research, I see the 'travel' points are worth less than 1 cpp unless you're redeeming a lot. They actually charge above face value for retail gift cards. You need to redeem 25,000 points to get $250 of CB at 1 cpp.

If you could get 2 actual transferrable points / miles per dollar on travel, dining, and entertainment with no AF then it could be pretty good, even if the transfer partners were a bit limited. But I see there are no transfer partners - just very high point prices for things you would otherwise be paying a cash price for.

I called Barclaycard to try to get some extra rewards and/or a SP CLI on Sallie Mae. No dice.

I really can't blame them, considering that they are already paying me 5% on nearly all of my SM spending.
