Barclaycard Sallie Mae Approval

Postby liberate » Thu Mar 12, 2015 2:24 pm

I just saw that my TU FICO from Discover has gone up from last month even after the recent pull for Chase Freedom, so I thought "what the heck" and applied for the Sallie Mae card I've been reading about. Instant $5k approval  , which was surprising after I'd read about users waiting days for an app decision. The Barclaycard mobile app looks nice and easy as well.

I think my plan will be to sit tight for awhile and do a line of CLI inquiries this fall when I've moved into a new apartment (less rent cost) and built some history with the new cards. My next concern is what AmEx is going to do with my TE account. I'd like to keep an AmEx card, so I'll wait and see what they decide to do next year.

Cheers all.

Congrats! It's a useful card. The website makes it fairly easy to track your spending and rewards.

I'll be getting back to using mine once the Freedom grocery category ends.
