What should i get as my first real credit card?

While acceptance of discover isn't on the level of visa or MasterCard, it's not as if it's some small time fly by night credit card, family guy episodes notwithstanding.

Yeah, I know but it's awkward when I go to get pizza or chinese or something and they say sorry we don't accept discover. I don't usually keep cash on me. But if the discover student is all I have a chance with, I'll go for it.

If you can get a student Discover, then that would be a great option.

Guess discover it is for now. I'll go for Amex in like a year or two. Thanks to everyone who replied and tried to help me.
