I just mainly post there now cause it was the first CC site that I really started to learn anything from and then I found this place and others that I learned even more from. I just wish MyFico could crack down on all the spam and ban the people that should have been banned long ago who have nothing to contribute whatsoever or just wanna start something with others but as some people have said, it seems to be encouraged there sometimes.

In the garden since November. In the next couple months I do plan on applying for the chase Hyatt and the citi aadvantage card for the signup bonuses. They're definitely ones that will get closed before the fees. I'm pretty happy just using the 3 in my signature. It covers all my needs.

I have been in the garden since October. I was thinking the Arrival+ might be the next card I go for, but lately I have been eyeing the Sallie Mae more. Getting 5% in a major spending category year-round is looking more and more attractive (and the monthly cap wouldn't be an issue).

I just might have to apply after Q1 ends and I can no longer get 5% from Discover on gas. I'll have to do some research on credit pulls if and when I get more serious. It may be a good time for my wife to apply for a major card on her own (it would help her credit and save a pull for me). She got declined for a Freedom last year, but now I think a Discover + Sallie Mae will be more useful to us than a Discover + Freedom (there are Freedom quarters that overlap or just aren't super useful). All of the baddies in her profile should have fallen off by this month. My next cycle of free credit reports is February, so I will need to make sure they are all gone...but I'm starting to talk myself into this.

Forgive me forum, for I have sinned. :o) I was doing really good too! Did the CLI request on the Discover site, was approved for an additional $1250, which brings me up to $3000 for them now. I wasn't expecting it to work, it never had in the past, or otherwise I would have asked for more. > :)

Did you take a HP for it? I have always asked over the phone, but AFAIK the first attempt won't require a HP and if they do need a HP they will get your explicit permission first. So, maybe you won't need to be excommunicated after all!

Okay. I really have to get this off of my chest.

I'm not the most active poster in the world by any stretch of the imagination, but I've been a member of this forum long before a 'Gardening' club ever moved over here courtesy of migrations, bans, and whatever dramatics that have happened from a forum known as MyFICO (I wouldn't know; I can't even even remember the last time I ever visited their forums).

At the risk of sounding like a total jackass (and the admins/moderators can bop me in the head for speaking beyond my place), can I please ask that people keep the MyFICO drama out of this forum and website or at least keep it to a bare minimum?

There's so much great advice and experiences being shared, etc, but the MyFICO this and that dramatics are getting to be a bit much.

I've been watching the threads around these forums here even though I haven't been posting much, and it's like the Borg that is MyFICO (not the people who also visit MyFICO, but the bleeding/cross-posting of the topics and related dramatics) are trying to assimilate this place or something by bleeding in all the drama that MyFICO can honestly - in my opinion - keep to itself.

I'm here - and maybe I'm the only one after all this time - for no BS credit card information and to share and share alike in an honest and straightforward manner. I'm not here to keep hearing about how dramatics have once again cropped up on MyFICO.

Getting together to gossip and criticize about what goes on in MyFICO or any other forum - despite how dramatic and nonsensical it may seem at times and despite its clique-i-ness - does not make what's going on here any less clique-y or make the discussions any 'better' or 'less dramatic' or 'less nonsensical'.

Noise is noise regardless of which side everyone is on and where MyFICO has the pro MyFICO drama, here is soon to be the same... except instead of pro, it has the anti MyFICO drama.

We have a bunch of great people here - including all of you - who know what they're talking about; we don't need to dilute this sharing of information by constantly dragging in the dramatics of another forum.

Thanks and thanks for listening.

I understand, And we'd address our issues with MyFICO at MyFICO...Buttttt.......They tend to get butthurt and delete and or edit your posts if you try to go against the grain.

No, seriously. They do. This is pretty much the safe haven. And for the most part, we keep it to this specific thread.
