For Christmas, I got a $1,500 CLI increase on my Citi Dividends and US Bank Platinum Premier Line.

But I think PayPal Smart Connect denied me.

Citi gave me an increase on one of the cards of theirs that I rarely use. Sure it's nice to see but I know I still won't use the card more. I wish Chase would have given me something.

The Cash+ card, I think they did a hard pull even after 6 months 2 days and only a $1400 CLI request. I am still waiting to hear back from them. Kind of pissed about that one, though.

For Christmas 2014, I got an AMEX Blue Cash card! I am humbled by my credit card staple--and, I thank those who have given their wisdom regarding their AMEX credit cards to help me in my decision. I couldn't have done it without you all and though it's only a Blue Cash, but perhaps I can upgrade to the Blue Cash Preferred when I am ready. Thanks Jesus!

Now I definitely got something, all related to Chase of course.

First of all, getting approved for the Ritz Carlton card and getting expedited shipping on that so I was able to test out that bad boy of a card days before Christmas. Currently trying to meet the sign up bonus on it and even got reimbursed for some airline related purchases I made. Pretty sweet deal. I'm probably keeping that card beyond the first year and using it regularly because despite the annual fee, it comes with a lot of benefits that make up for it anyway (it's even less of an AF than the Amex Plat for example) and I have my eye on the Chase Mariott Premier card next year too.

Also, Chase let me move my SW card's (a card that I mainly got to get my foot in the door with chase, I'm doing the same thing with my Amex Gold Delta Skymiles card next year) limit over to my AARP and I was able to close it out, so I got a new high credit limit from that. I'm probably not doing that again in the future though because I don't want Chase to think that I have a repeated pattern of churning and close all of my accounts because of that and a more usable card that I love to use regularly. I will still move CLs around but not close accounts with them for sure, especially AF products. That was something I had learned after doing that so that's giving me a lot of motivation to be more careful in the future.

The final Chase related present I got was an extra 1000 points as a result of messaging SM two times about seeing if they could waive my AF on the Ritz since I saw that someone over at MyFico was able to get theirs waved that way. I didn't get it waived but that's what they gave me to compensate. Sometimes if you really want to play, you have to pay.

@popamode72

Do you close out your accounts or convert them to another card in their product line?

Because if you close out your account, doesn't that actually hurt your credit score because of the fractions of the amounts of credit accounts you have open?

As far as I'm concerned, the account will still be on my CR for the next 10 years as a positive tradeline so the only thing it will affect short term is utilization.

And I closed out the account completely. There aren't any PC options for that card either other than the Premier version of the SW card. What also kinda reassured me is that someone I know closed his Amazon Visa card and reallocated his CL over to his other chase cards and hasn't had a problem getting other cards with them since.
