I've not had a card over $10k yet, but it doesn't really bother me when the cards I already have offer rewards that suit my spending so well.

I'd like to eventually have It and Freedom (or CSP) get there.

I could probably get $10k on BCE or Sallie Mae pretty quickly, but those cards just offer awful rewards on heavy spending.
Wallet: Prestige CSP SchwabPlat Freedom It Hyatt SallieMae AAPlat
SD: Arrival BrooksBros BCE ED IHG
Letting new accounts cool off since May
Really not sure what I'll add next or when

Got it back in February. Went ahead with the request anyway through SM. They've been great to me and have always moved CLs no problem. I'm really using the card a lot and pushing a lot of spend through it so that's another reason why I wanted $10k on it.

Update: I called JPM priority line instead and this sweet lady from lending department was able to do it with no issues and the changes immediately reflected. None of this stuff about having to have a month of inactivity on X card in order for them to do it either. I should have done it this way back in December when I closed my Southwest Airlines Plus card and wanted to move the limit over to the AARP. I only did a partial consolidation then.

Way faster than contacting SM to move around CLs and much better than when I once tried using the SW Airlines line to consolidate limits and they couldn't.

My first $10k line has been from Discover, just got it last month using $1.5k SP CLI. It's two years old, and stands exactly at $10k, and started at $750. My next lowest line was CSP at $8.7k (auto CLI from $6.7k, also last month) but then I moved $2.7k of that to my Freedom.

My next best lines are Cash+ and Sallie Mae at $8.5k each; SM got there last month as well but Cash+ is getting into its 6th month. Fingers crossed.

My TU is 743 (FICO 08 from Discover), CR is 2.67 years old, AAoA 1.33 years. TU has one inquiry < 1 year, EQ has none, EX has 5. EQ is at 725 (FICO 04 DCU), no idea about EX (728 on Plus but FICO would be lower).
AMEX BCE | PRG || Barclaycard Sallie Mae || Capital One QuickSilver | Venture || Chase Freedom | Sapphire Preferred || Citi Dividend || Discover It || UFCU Great Rate || US Bank Cash+ #1 | Cash+ #2 | Club Carlson Plat | REI || Total CL $144.2k + PRG NPSL, not counting AU

Thanks Popa !

I have lurked around here for quite a long time; almost the same time around when I joined MyFico. I also lurk on CB and FT, but rarely post.

How're you? Recovered from AMEX blues?

Same here when it comes to CB. I was posting there but honestly I haven't felt like going there regularly anymore. FT I've checked out a few times as well.

I'm doing pretty good right now. Feeling much better about the Amex thing and I've gotten new goals I really want to meet. I'm staying away from any new CC applications for quite a while until my stuff has aged enough, etc. Citi Prestige or Citi Thank You Preferred seem like cards that I'd be interested in getting when all of this stuff is over and maybe some other possibilities like SP CLIs and cards like Sallie Mae will be opened up too if I give it enough time. I think all of those things will more than make up for the Amex losses.

Good plan. Holding apps back for a few months should do you a lot of good. I'm personally holding apps till summer !

Hopefully TU (and maybe EQ) will climb above 750. EX - no hope. Then I'll get back to some hotel cards maybe; Club Carlson looks good.
