My original post was dated November 1st: since that time (an unsuccessful attempt that caused more trouble than using the chip reader was worth), I've used the EMV Chase Freedom card successfully ONLY at Walmart...and I'm talking about the South Florida area (Florida Keys to Miami to the Palm Beaches): millions of people who live here and millions more who visit from all over the world. One would think that I'm living in the middle of the damn Sahara Desert trying to use an EMV credit card...shameful. American credit card banking is truly second class now. Just my humble opinion, thank you.
