I was very pleased with a $1,000 CLI, especially since I have never come close to my limit and the activity on the card has really died off this year (I used to use it all the time for the gas discount). They didn't have me request a dollar amount, I just got automatically approved for $2,300. IIRC I started with $1,100 and got a $200 auto-CLI though I can't remember when. It's the only auto-CLI I have ever gotten. I have no problem with Synchrony. They aren't trying to be a Discover or an American Express (cough cough Capital One). They are serving a particular market and doing so well.

Hey, there's a brand new acronym for Cre if he or she is still reading ;)

I can completely agree. Synchrony was especially helpful in helping me get higher CLs and growing with me as my credit profile improved. My second CLI with the Amazon card was a request I made and the first one was an auto CLI from 600 to 1900 and now I feel pretty good about having a card from them that matches my highest TL's CL and that I can also use wherever VISA is accepted while taking advantage of some of the cash back offers they have on the website too.

I didn't even think it'd be that high because it said that my temporary limit would be 1000 dollars and even the automated system kept saying that was my limit until I checked my CRs today and was absolutely shocked that I got 5k from Sync, especially since I thought I had reached maximum exposure from them.
Macy's TLs (21k), Lowes (17k), CSP (10k), Sam's Club (10k), Nordstrom (5k), AARP (4.2k), Freedom (3k), Discover (1.5k), Quicksilver (2k), BoA (3k), Barclaycard Arrival (2.5k), Amazon Store (6k), Paypal (4.9k), Sam's Club MC (3.6k), Walmart MC (1.2k)

I looked at the Ebates website. It doesn't look as valuable as ShopDiscover, but it could be occasionally useful.

Do you plan to close any of your current cards? Open others anytime soon? Or leave your cards as they are for now?

You know what turns me off the most about MF's gardening thing?

I plan to eventually move the CL of my SW card over to the AARP card and closing that when I can, especially when I use the points I got from that sign up offer to help pay for a flight I'm going on in December/early January possibly. Same thing with Amex Gold Delta Skymiles pretty much but that won't be until that card turns 13 months old. There's really nothing else I want to close at the moment. In January, I will also still go for the BCE, especially to get some backdating out of that.

Next year, I might consider taking out an auto loan and since I got a preapproval from DCU, that CU is definitely a possibility of where I'll be able to get one.

Love it!

I never spend any time at MyFICO. The only times I visit it are when I am linked there from here. I enjoy partaking in the fun here about how cultish it is, but I consistently overestimate just how much we're exaggerating!
