Call their analysts. Last time I tried to recon with them it went pretty well though that was a couple of years back now. I'd do it now that way you can recon if you were declined.

Don't be afraid to call recon more than once if you don't get the card on the first try.

About a month and a half ago I applied for Sallie Mae and got the 10 day message. I called the analyst line a few days later. They said I had already passed the credit check and my application was stuck in the security department. They just asked me to verify that I had, in fact, applied and that I had an income. They gave me a $4,500 limit which I made no effort to try to increase.

I just did a refresh while writing, and congrats on your approval with a great limit!

$250? Dang, that is really good! The standard introductory bonus for the BCP is only $150. Did you get a targeted offer from Amex? Or did you find a link somewhere to apply for a special offer?

Congrats from me as well on the approvals :D

Though not being OP, what I got from AMEX were two mailed offers for BCE sent to me together:
  • Spend $500 and get $150
  • Spend $1000 and get $250
There seems never to be any link to apply for the $250 offer.
Citi Forward Visa $5000 10/2012 | American Express Blue Cash Everyday $8000 2/2014 | Discover it $7000 5/2014
Chase Freedom Visa Signature $7000 6/2014 | Citi ThankYou Premier Visa Signature $5000 1/2015
All EMV.

Thanks all!

Vattene: I filled out the form on their site to find out if I was pre qualified for anything and they had a few offers and luckily the card I wanted was on the list.

Awesome, it sounds like they wanted you pretty badly.

Before I moved a few months ago, I would get mailings from Amex all the time (wish I could remember if it was for anything that good). Of course, now that I am actually interested in getting an Amex, nothing.
