Not really. Membership requirements just vary by CU. Some are easy to join. Some are very restrictive.

I applied and what should have been a 24 hour decision turned into 8 days of no decision.I have excellent credit. NASA dragged its feet and asked for copies of my pay stubs,drivers license and even asked for a rental agreement then would not act when told i dont have one.They go over the top in violating applicant privacy in their demands and have poor customer service even when compared to other credit unions.It was a terrible experience.
