I, like you am relatively new to credit, about 3 years ago i received my 1st Card, Capital One with a $300 limit, that same card currently has a $2000 Limit, and they increased it automatically, they actually increased it multiple times throughout the past 3 years without me asking, from 300 to 500 to 2000, there may have been a 1,500 step in there but i can't recall,

Anyways, 3 years later, couple months ago I received a Chase Freedom card with a $6000 CL immediately during the application, so congrats on the Chase card (I couldn't qualify for a Chase card 3 yrs ago, so had to start with a basic Capital One).
I have to agree with most here, make ontime payments for a while and I believe they'll raise it for you, it worked for me,

Good luck/ take care

From someone who absolutely ruined his credit in his late 20's used cash for 10 years and then took about 10 years to re-establish his credit, take everybody's advice and use the card wisely. Pay it off every month in full. And, with so low an initial limit. Watch how much you put on it every month. Do this for 6-8 months and see if you get an Auto CLI. If you don't get one then ask.

Do not do what I did. It is not worth it.

Congratulations by the way on getting the Chase Freedom. I, for one, am impressed.
