Purch prot., warranty, return prot: Chase vs AMEX

Postby CrypticTriX » Wed Sep 17, 2014 12:28 am

Under Chase and AMEX, they have product protection for damages etc, return protection, and warranty extension. I was wondering which credit cards would be better at these aspects. They both have about the same protection amounts and limits. Which companies would be more lenient and more effective?

Thank you.

I have the Chase Freedom and the AMEX Blue Cash Preferred if it helps.

I hope lenient was not the word you were looking for.

Amex is more consumer-friendly. Visa makes you jump through hoops.

Agreed. AmEx is hands down the best when it comes to extended warranties, purchase protection, fraud, etc.

I haven't had to deal with this with Chase, or Visa but I did have an experience with AMEX. I had some ammunition that I bought that I no longer needed, I knew that firearms and ammunition was on the list that AMEX wouldn't cover but I decided to call anyone. They gladly refunded the amount since the store wouldn't take it back. It took a ten minute call and an overnight wait to receive the email that I was covered.

I know I said AmEx is hands down the best, but look in the Discover section to see my experience today.
