Which issuers occasionally HP AUs?

Postby CarefulBuilder14 » Tue Aug 26, 2014 7:10 am

So it isn't supposed to happen, but it sometimes does. Even though an AU isn't legally liable for a card's debt, some issuers will - for whatever reason - do a hard pull on a person's credit report when that person is added to a card as an authorized user.

Do any lenders have a reputation for doing a hard pull on an authorized user's credit? How difficult is it to get the pull removed? Do these cases usually involve misunderstanding by a cardholder or by the issuer's employee?

I added my brother just for me to get the points (5k on the CSP) I wasn't planing on telling him-- I was just going to let time pass and then end up removing him- but then weeks after i added him he was out looking to buy a car. when the dealership pulled up his report it showed up there.
