I have had the same type of experience with BoA.

I think I'm a reasonable person, and I was never rude. But they were unwilling to help me out with every issue that I have had with them.

So 2 years ago I just closed my checking, savings, and credit cards with BoA and started using Chase. I have nothing but nice things to say about Chase.

Each time you ask for CLI always assume there will be a HP. In fact your T&C gives them the permission to pull your credit report when you ask for more credit.

You also need to understand that most people can't tell the difference between SP and HP to begin with. Most people aren't like us where we care so much about what's on our credit report.

I think it's a perfectly reasonable expectation that representatives of the bank know what they are talking about. Sadly, reality falls vastly short of that, but it's not asking much that they train the help to know what the hell they are talking about, but much of coprorate America doesn't believe in that philosophy.

We can't take what they say at face value, but we ought to be able to.

Technically SP and HP are terms invented by Internet users. From credit analyst point of view there is pull for account review (SP) and pull for credit request (HP).
