Fifth Third Preferred card

Postby alex911 » Thu Aug 21, 2014 4:44 pm

I have been given the option through a family member to get the annual payment fee cancelled for the "Fifth Third Prefered Card". My question is: is it worth getting?

Since I'm new to credit cards and I've lived most of my life abroad where none of the credit cards offered any major perks, I wanted to know what do some of the features mean.

So there are benefits like "MasterCard Airport Concierge", "MasterCard Global Service" and "MasterCard® Priceless Cities". What exactly do they do? Do I get to go into airport lounges for free? If yes, where do I find a list of them?

Also, how much does the "Meet and greet" airport service typically cost?

Do I get priority security checks/boarding too?

Thank you in advance for any help!

If you google these terms or go to the MasterCard site, it should give you all the information you are looking for.

I don't think any of that gives you priority security checks or boarding. Those are programs from the airlines and the TSA so you would need to sign up for Global Entry or TSA Pre-Check for the security, and the boarding would vary by airline as to what is required. I don't think that gets you into lounges, at least as far as I know. Someone may know otherwise and be able to chime in here.

I'd just suggest going to the MasterCard site and checking out what they have to say about it.

Is the card a World MasterCard or a World Elite MasterCard?

WMC benefits are here:

WEMC benefits here:

Priceless cities (which I've never used with my WMC) lets you get tickets for "exclusive" experiences that I'd never do anyway (after-hours shopping, wine tasting and the like).

-Capital One Quicksilver
-Barclaycard Arrival (no AF)
- US Bank (no rewards)
