I know what you mean, I have a $500 secured BoA card and was so happy when I got a $200 auto cli, and then ecstatic when I got a second $200 auto cli. Now I couldn't care less and I'm just sitting here with a $10k line on a single card.

Don't let one failed recon with Chase scare you off - I've had to recon 3 times with them to get a card. It's just a matter of convincing the right analyst you would be a good customer, or finding one in a good mood or whatever the case may be. I've recon'd with both Barclays and Chase and both are about as open to recons as anyone.

It might be too late at this point to recon again but just info for everyone for the future.

Thanks member, I'll try again sometime. I applied twice for the freedom and reconed four times. :( I'm gonna call Barclay and recon my limit again and see if they'll do anything for me.

Good advice! I've always been afraid to do something like that. Like the most I'll try to recon is like once and if that doesn't work, I don't even bother because I assumed they would just tell me the same thing if I tried. I guess when the time comes to try Chase again or to attempt to get in with Barclays, I will keep you what said in mind. I think part of it is also me getting a bit nervous when I try to answer their questions or explain why I want so and so card. I know reconning has worked once in my case and that was with Wells Fargo so I never know.

I cant wait my CreditKarma updates and shows my Discover it and Chase Sapphire :(

onion wrote:That awesome moment when CreditKarma updates and your new cards finally report to TransUnion, resulting in a sweet score boost! Yeah, the missing accounts on my report resulted in a crappy score for a couple weeks. Still missing that Discover account, as well as two AmEx ones. Still, I'm a happy camper tonight.

I was approved for the Chase Freedom after my second recon. They wanted to see a loan paid off in full. I pulled up my credit report and showed them several, which convinced the second rep. Keep working at it.

As for Cap One, I recently dropped a $750 Cap One (see sig) that was never increased after nearly 7 years. They won't budge on those cards. Drop the card.

Luckily, I had a second Cap One card where the fee was raised in the past to $1800. That card was allowed an upgrade to the Quicksilver. $1800 is a "healthy" CL from Cap One and something that can at least be worked with for now.

That's why I'm crossing my fingers that I might get lucky with CapOne like other people have with their sixth statements and get end up with a credit limit greater than 750 dollars. It's coming up next month for me.

Holy mackarel! I went ahead and apped for one of Chase's cards yesterday and got that further review message thinking that I had gotten instantly declined by the system and then when I made a call to them today, they told me the application is still pending amazingly enough and basically I made my case to the representative as to why I wanted the card in particular, what I'd use the card for, and why I wanted to be more of a customer with them that I applied for and he really seemed like a nice guy I was talking to this time. He told me a different department is doing the review but he took a bunch of notes as to what the gist of our conversation was so I'm not expecting any other surprises but yeah. I'll keep checking up on that.
