More Credit Card Offer Woes

Postby onion » Sun Aug 17, 2014 12:23 pm

Some of you may remember this thread that I posted a while ago regarding credit card offers.

http://creditcardforum.com/general-credit-card-talk/10395-getting-credit-card-offers.html

My fiancee is an AU on all my accounts so that we can get better rewards on her purchases (all she has under her name is a Discover IT Chrome student) and give her a bit more credit history without the inquiries. For some reason (doesn't live with me at the moment, going to two different schools until next year), she gets prequal offers in the mail and gets matches from the CardMatch tool with better sign up bonuses than the advertised stuff online. On the other hand, I never get anything, even on CardMatch. I looked at her CK report and its reporting my address as well, so I decided to see if she gets offers with my address on CardMatch. Gave it a shot, and... Nothing. Tried her address, she got targeted offers for the AmEx Plat and PRG! Tried my name and my address and nothing as well. So, it seems that its an issue with the address. I've tried typing it as the USPS would put it, I tried it the way that it shows up on my credit report, and I tried it the way the apartment complex writes it and nothing. I'm gonna be at this address for another year and don't want to be missing out on a full year's worth of targeted offers (some of which can be pretty awesome). How can I resolve this problem? My address is correct, but for some reason it has trouble identifying me...

Another related issue, Quizzle thinks I'm someone else when I sign up, which now makes sense because it doesn't read my address properly. It asks me the verification questions regarding loans and mortgages, but they're not mine.

This may be a dumb question, but you do know that just because she gets prequal offers doesn't mean she'll qualify...right?

I never get prequals and I have plenty of credit. It's all a part of the game, I think.

You have a pretty decent wallet. Are you looking for anything in particular, or are you just miffed that she gets the offers as an AU with a thin file and you're further along in the game and get squat?

I don't mind at all, its just that this issue led me to realize that there's an issue with my reported address. It also makes sense as to why I can't pull any of my reports online on the annual credit report website and always have to call and do it manually, and also why Quizzle keeps thinking I'm someone else.
