Getting Credit Card Offers

Postby onion » Fri Aug 08, 2014 1:59 pm

I've got a very peculiar issue... I can't seem to get ANY credit card offers. I've verified my name and address with the credit bureaus and its correct. I've opted in for offers as well. I've had credit for almost 11 months and have yet to get a single offer. On the other hand, my fiancee applied for a Chase Freedom (first app ever) and got declined and started getting offers that same week. What gives? Anything I can do? I've been eyeing the AmEx Platinum or CSP but I'd like to wait until I get a targeted offer for a better sign up bonus.

Hi Onion,
FWIW, I went for a long while without getting offers. Then all of a sudden, BAM! I get them left and right. I had opted out a few years ago, so maybe there's a time limit before they automatically start sending again. Did you opt out in the past? I received 4 just TODAY. Really makes it hard for a girl to be good, lol. But I feel I have enough cards for now. May try for the Discover It later this month or early next month, then garden indefinitely.

Nope, I've never opted out. I've also lived at the same address the whole time I've had credit, so its not like the offers are going somewhere else. I guess I'll just have to keep on waiting.

I get so much junk mail from the previous residents that a couple extra offers wouldn't really bother me, especially if they're going to be giving me better than average sign up bonuses for cards I was planning on getting anyways.

I was wondering the same thing. My credit improved, and nothing. Had a fraud alert put on all 3 bureaus due to a unauthorized charge on my Amex Premier Rewards card. Experian sent me a letter they stop all pre approval for 6 Months due to fraud. Does that apply to you???? Just a reason thought I would share
