His posts and threads were usually some of the most laughable things on MyFico that I've seen, basically applying for cards even when people there told him a million times that he wouldn't be able to qualify for them because of many reasons, especially the big balance he has carrying on his low limit Wells Fargo Secured card. Just go through his older posts for some hilarity here. You thought Bears and Turtles was bad? Well, I kinda think this guy is worse or was worse. I think he's one of those rebuilder types and there was even one point where this guy was putting any credit card company that he didn't like onto his Sh*t list because they wouldn't extend him credit like Discover for example.

Also someone allegedly lied about their manufactured spending in one of threads recently here.

I guess I am in the "garden" for real this time. Going to try to do this thing for like six months and then apping for one of my card considerations at the bottom because by that time all of my accounts will have aged a lot more than they have now. Having the majority of the cards I've wanted with particular lenders really gives me a lot of incentive not to app for anything more for now.

Unlike certain gardeners over at a certain website, I actually have the guts to close accounts I have no use for anymore or any desire to have 20 or 30 cards in my wallet nor do I have the patience to seriously wait 3-4 years just to get another card if I really want it (unless it is I go by their logic and do the shopping card trick to get some super low limit Comenity cards.....yeah.....that's REAL gardening right there. Blech). Life is too short. :)

I do think so supercoolman, or at least they should.

Good for you popamode, there is no shame in being in the garden. While this thread is sort of in jest, I'm actually seriously in it as well. I really can't/shouldn't do anything further now as I have two new vehicles (one used) + three new credit cards + a mortgage soon to appear, yeah it's really time to just chill for 6 months to a year and let everything settle. And honestly I need no further credit in any case. Nothing wrong with lying low for a while.

Well I'm starting over. Applied and approved for the AMEX PRG and Citi AAdvantage. Will also be applying for the Barclays US Airways card soon. It was fun while it lasted.

Congrats! You might want to get that Barclays app done quickly because they're not big fans of inquiries and new accounts.

Does Barclays 'subscribe' to customers' full credit reports through soft pulls? Or they just get FICO scores each month from TU?
Keeping indefinitely: IHG, SchwabPlat, CSP, Discover, Freedom, ED, BCE, Hyatt
May close or PC: Prestige, Arrival, BrooksBros
AA Platinum converting into Costco

Might add: Proper business card, CSR, Ritz, Delta Gold, First Tech
Letting new accounts cool off since May

For promotional inquiries banks only get limited information on credit report. I do have one soft pull from Barclays listed.

TransUnion's description about promotional inquiries on credit report:
The companies listed below received your name, address and other limited information about you so they could make a firm offer of credit or insurance. They did not receive your full credit report. These inquiries are not seen by anyone but you and do not affect your score.

Not sure about scores though.
Citi Forward Visa $5000 10/2012 | American Express Blue Cash Everyday $8000 2/2014 | Discover it $7000 5/2014
Chase Freedom Visa Signature $7000 6/2014 | Citi ThankYou Premier Visa Signature $5000 1/2015
All EMV.

The Barclays Visa Black Card invitations are not necessarily exclusive...

http://creditcardforum.com/general-credit-card-talk/10354-just-got-visa-black-card-invitation-mail.html

As far as the 'limited information' I suppose Barclays won't know when other cards are open until they do another hard pull (for a CLI, perhaps)...good to know!
